"Akala", known as "Evolution Dragon Emperor" (
The archetype is heavily connected to the "Evol" archetype, specifically the "Evolzar" sub-archetype. In the OCG, every member of the archetype has a condition that treats them as being part of the "Evolzar" archetype. In the TCG, this condition does not exist, as all members already have "Evolzar" in their names.
Playing Style[]
Aside from "Number 65: Evolzar Akala" itself (which has an effect that is more in line with most "Evolzar" monsters), the monsters have effects which destroy the opponent's monsters, often either increasing their own ATK or dealing effect damage in the process.
An Akala Deck is usually very similar to an "Evol" Deck, revolving around using the effects of the "Evoltile" monsters to summon the "Evolsaur" monsters, which are used to Xyz Summon the "Evolzar" Xyz Monsters. However, many of the "Akala" monsters can also use "Evoltile" monsters for their Summoning, since they often are able to use both Dinosaur and Reptile monsters as Xyz Material. Once "Number 65: Evolzar Akala" is on the field, it can be supplemented with the other "Evolzar" Xyz Monsters, and the other forms can be summoned using "Rank-Up-Magic" and "Rank-Down-Magic" cards, with ones that summon them the easiest being "Rank-Up-Magic Evolution Force" and "Rank-Down-Magic Evolution Fall".
