Dark Lancer is an archetype of DARK Warrior-Type Monsters that focus around swarm and burn tactics. They were created by D.J. Holland and debuted in the short story/fanfic Yu-Gi-Oh! Crosswire and are used by Yusuke Sato. Their boss monster is Dark Lancer Final Shadow Queen, which is a Link Monster with a Link Rating of -5. This archetype also uses Pendulum Summons, Xyz Summons, Synchro Summons, and Fusion Summons.
Design
They appearance and design of Dark Lancer cards are those of ghostly knights with black armor and fog shrouding them like The Phantom Knights archetype, except instead of bluish-purple fog, they are always surrounded by red fog. They also have ghostly crimson eyes and silver capes. They also have weapons like swords, spears, lances, and shields. The Extra Deck members are usually tall and thin, while the main deck cards have cartoon-like, rounded, and stout bodies.
