Paris Yamazaki (パリ山崎 Pari Yamazaki) is a character appearing in Yu-Gi-Oh ACES!. He is one of the inhabitants of the Enchant Dimension and a close ally to Yuta Shiina.

Appearance[]

Paris' hair is straight, short and a dark red, with one brighter red bang off to the left and an ahoge of the same color. He has turquoise eyes, of which glow into a sky blue when he Enchant Summons. His normal attire is the standard Senior Obelisk Blue uniform, although while in the Standard Dimension he donned a light blue dress shirt and white dress pants.
During Duels, Paris' left eye glows with an Enchant Sparkle and his ahoge flattens into another bang. His Duel Disk's base is silver and resembles the hilt of a sword- a reference to his Archetype of choice- with a thin blue sword-shaped blade similar to that of the Duel Academy Duel Disks.

Etymology[]

While Paris' name comes from the city of Paris, France, it also sounds like "Parry", a term in fencing that describes a deflection or defense of an opponent's attack. This is also referenced in his Deck, which comprises of "Épé" monsters, the name coming from a type of sword used in fencing.

Personality[]

Paris' arrogance often gets him into fights with the more cautious Yuta. While he can come off as rude (especially to Sekai, who refused to speak to him for a while), his bluntness doesn't have ill intent. He often teases those he's close to and will taunt opponents in Duels to get them riled up. Paris can also be stubborn at times, refusing to help Yuya Sakaki and Zuzu Boyle after the latter insulted his outfit.

Abilities[]

As he is an Enchant Summoner, Paris has the innate ability to see the Ace monster of opponents during Duels (and thus was surprised when he saw Paige's Ace monster, which was a type of card that he'd never seen before).
Because Number 61: Swordship Swordsman was the first Number he'd used, Paris became immune to the control of Dottore's Numbers.

Deck[]

Paris uses an Épé Deck, focused around quickly Enchant Summoning his boss monsters and maintaining field advantage.
