Raiz is a character in Yu-Gi-Oh! Xross. A strange being called an Arkon, he dueled Yuga Senku after pulling him into the Mirror Dimension and lost, subsequently losing his King's Mark.

Appearance[]

Raiz's true form is unknown, but his "human" form is that of an unkempt, almost insane-looking man. He has messy white-blonde hair and red eyes. He wears a black aviator jacket.

Personality[]

Raiz has an extreme disdain for humans as he believes they are "inferior beings" compared to the Arkons, and looks down on them, even when he lost against Yuga, he kept that world view. Raiz is an extremely proud and arrogant individual.

Voice/Mannerisms[]

Raiz often switches between the formal pronoun "ore" when talking to other Arkons, and "俺様" (oresama) when speaking to humans, as he sees himself as a god in comparison.

Raiz has a tendency to sit on roofs and "sit like a gargoyle" as pointed out by Yuga.

Abilities[]

Raiz is an Arkon, and thus is more resistant to pain than a human, as shown when Yuga punched him in the face. He also has access to a "King's Mark", a mark on his left hand that allows him to travel between the human world and the Mirror Dimension, with which he often uses to abduct humans and duel them to "prove his superiority". However this backfired after he abducted Yuga, only to lose to him and have his King's Mark taken.

Relationships[]

Yuga Senku[]

Raiz hates Yuga seemingly more than any other human, as he was the first human to defeat him in a duel and took his King's Mark for himself. He also despises his laid-back and smug demeanor.

Veiss[]

Raiz is Veiss's comrade, Raiz strongly against Veiss's curiosity with humanity. Yet despite this, Veiss often has to keep Raiz's arrogance in check, this usually results in Raiz showing open hostility to his "babysiter".

Deck[]

Raiz specializes in a "Trump Fiend" deck, mainly focused on burn and substitution tactics, primarily using "Red Joker" to switch out a "King", "Queen" or "Jack" to a different attribute, or "suit" as he refers to them so he can Overdrive Summon the corresponding "Ace" to overwhelm his opponent due to all their effects preventing them from targeting them with effects.
