"Rebellion HERO" (
"Rebellion HERO" Decks focus heavily on Fusion Summoning. Most members are put together in groups of three based on their Attribute, with each group having their own Fusion Monsters.
Design[]
The "Rebellion HERO" monsters are based on a combination of Super Sentai, resistance movements, and characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Each group of three is given a title based on the names of their Fusion Monsters. A majority of the groups of three are based on the teams found in the video game Sonic Heroes, with the exception of two groups, as Sonic Heroes only had four playable teams.

The "Rebellion HERO" monsters also have a litany of Fusion Monsters whose Fusion Material consist of two or more members of different teams. These monsters are references to various duos and trios in the Sonic Games.

Upgraded Forms[]
Some "Rebellion HERO" monsters have Upgraded forms that are summoned using the Spell Card Liberation Ring. These monsters are often references to Sonic characters related to the one the base monster references, while Liberation Ring itself is a reference to the Ring of Acorns and the version of the Power Rings from the Sonic the Hedgehog comic book series published by Archie Comics.

Playing Style[]
The "Rebellion HERO" archetype focuses on Normal Summoning their monsters to activate their effects, so much of their support cards allow them additional Normal Summons. Many "Rebellion HERO" effects can be used a number of times equal to the number of monsters you control that share an Attribute with that monster, incentivizing playing all the members of a team. Additionally, "Rebellion HERO" monsters in the same team often have abilities that work together, such as Knuckle Duster being able to redirect attacks on other "Rebellion HERO" monsters to itself, while Sonic Wind can negate attacks on other monsters.
Of course, the archetype also has an abundance of Fusion Monsters with unique abilities, as well as support for Fusion Summoning those monsters. Most of the core Fusion Monsters require specific Fusion Materials, though there are a few that can use any "Rebellion HERO" monsters, so long as they have specific Attributes.

- Rebellion HERO Freedom Fighter, Rebellion HERO Midnight Operative, Rebellion HERO Beautiful Angel, Rebellion HERO Soundwave Disruptor, Rebellion HERO Brilliant Future, and Rebellion HERO Abyssal Justice are based on Super Sonic, Super Shadow, Super Amy, Vectorman/The Sonic the Hedgehog Band, Super Silver, and Perfect Chaos, respectively.
- Team Future is the only "Rebellion HERO" team to have more than three members.
- This is because Rebellion HERO Bright Faust is based on Mephiles the Dark from Sonic '06, who is a villain that deceived Silver the Hedgehog and Blaze the Cat into furthering his plans. In lore, Bright Faust betrays his teammates, causing him to be stripped of his status as a "Rebellion HERO" and Silent Sniper being recruited to take his place.
