Sigma City is a bustling metropolis in the future past Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL, and is the setting for Yu-Gi-Oh! GSTART.  It is named after the Sigma Corporation, the first building made in the area.

While it is located in Japan, Sigma City's concept was derived from cities in the United States of America. According to Taylor Gorrell, Sigma City's founders wanted to imitate the image of a "land of opportunity" that America has, and while America's success of living up to this image is debatable, common opinion is that Sigma City succeeded in adopting this image.

Keeping in line with its image, Sigma City's culture is more like that of America rather than the rest of Japan, which can come as a culture shock to anyone not familiar with the area. Differences include school uniforms not being mandatory (each individual school makes this choice), different social cues (taking off your shoes before entering doesn't always happen here), etc. The city's layout itself is similar to that of New York City, with the main city being divided into five Districts, four being mainland and one being an island.  High-speed monorails allow easy access between the Districts.
