A Star Counter (スターカウンター Sutā Kauntā) is a counter used only by "Pixel HERO - Star Striker". With each Star Counter "Star Striker" has, its ATK can be increased to double, triple, or even quadruple its original ATK. The Star Counters are represented by the yellow stars on "Star Striker's" tank top glowing.
As "Star Striker" is based on Little Mac from the Punch-Out!! series of video games, it can be inferred that the Star Counters are a reference to the Star Punch, Little Mac's signature move which, in the Nintendo Wii game, had three levels of strength based on if Mac had 1, 2, or 3 Stars, much like "Star Striker's" effect.
