The Fracture (フラクチャー Furakuchā) was a disastrous event that took place 10 years before the events of Yu-Gi-Oh! Xross on the 13th of August. The event occurred at a research facility owned by Libra Co. that was studying a mysterious artefact at the edge of Haven City, when the entire facility and everyone inside seemingly vanished off the face of the planet.
