Yoru Mezameru is a character appearing in Taylor Gorrell's fanfiction, Yu-Gi-Oh! GSTART. A narcoleptic boy and a junior at Delta High, he is one of Kohaku Yudin's main friends.

Appearance[]

Yoru has average-toned skin, dull brown eyes, and long and VERY thick lavender hair in a similar style to glam rock stars. When sleeping, his hair covers his eyes. He usually wears a white blanket-like object that goes over his head, with sleeves that his hands come out of (akin to a real-life Snuggie). The cloth stops below his knees, revealing black shoes and the bottoms of gray pants.

Etymology[]

"Yoru Mezameru", when read in Japanese fashion ("Mezameru Yoru"), means "Awakened Night".

Personality[]

Yoru sports a "go with the flow" attitude and typically doesn't react strongly to anything, usually sporting half-lidded eyes. He is a friendly person, but has a tendency to be lazy. Yoru has a good sense of humor, never taking any jokes about his narcolepsy seriously.

Abilities[]

Yoru's form of narcolepsy is rather odd. While he primarily falls asleep during the day, if his last name ("Mezameru", which means "awaken") is spoken to him while asleep, he will instantly wake up, but is usually groggy.

Yoru plays a Slumber Deck, consisting of baby monsters that are asleep. His non-Composition Monsters can't attack, but Yoru mainly plays a Stall/Burn strategy with them so he doesn't even need to attack, Special Summoning "Dream Dragon - Slumberlong" in case his Stall strategy fails.
